ABOUT US

John Wood, Owner
The Tree amigos owner, John, is a certified arborist. He has been serving the residents in and around Corpus Christi for over 10 years. John cares about the health and safety of your trees. If you are needing expert tree services, give us a call or text us today at 361-331-2091.
Bret
Bret and John have known each other since the third grade. Well before trees came into either of their lives, Bret was teaching John how to take engines off of mowers, "soup them up" and convert mountain bikes into afterburner possessing death rockets of which they escaped death on countless times. Bret, who has always been mechanically inclined went on to the oilfield where he honed in his skills ironically in the Safety field. Bret came to work with the company in his down times from the oil patch bringing with him his knowledge of safety and mechanical savvy. Bret is the companies "go to" for preventative maintenance, repairs, and keeps a close eye out for trip hazards and the such.
Mick
John has known Mick since he was in the first grade. Mick works with the company on a regular basis but is also a chef. He spends most of the day complaining about the food we eat at work but is another fine example of a hard worker. His character really comes out when we start busting each others chops to work harder and faster. The guys love to heckle each other all day and we always know we can count on Mick for a good laugh whether it's picking on Waylon or showing us the latest and greatest viral video on the web, he keeps the day enjoyable and there's never a shortage of comedy.
Mick
Rey
Rey is the companies right hand man. He has climbed the ranks here just as he did while serving in the U.S. Army in the Iraq and Afghanistan area. We are pretty sure that his experience there for 14 months in the desert and the training he received in the military is why he is an exceptional leader, organizer, estimator, and responsible individual here with this company. Rey has been through the longest, most grueling, hottest, and hardest days here with The Tree Amigos in the summer and has never complained. Rey is a real "Suck it up and move forward" kind of guy. We are just really glad he's on our side.
Bob
Bob is a human tank. We traded someone at the circus a $400 dolly for this guy. He believes in carrying whole trees to the chipper and if the tree is in the back yard, he just throws it over the house. Watching Bret and Bob move things around can be fascinating as they dig up some freakishly secret inner strength from a depth the rest of us can't fathom. Bob is also another one of the comedians here that helps us to keep our sanity while working in this stressful environment that is often 100+degrees.
Bob
Pops
Reys father(Rey), who everyone knows as "Pops" is also a guy that can work with the best of them and not complain. If you wore this guy out, it was a bad day, and I mean BAD. When and if you ever hear him sigh or see him sit down, well, that means it's time to for everyone go home and lick their wounds. Pops knows the drill and when we get to a site, he is one of the guys that immediately snaps into action and knows what needs to get done next.
Waylon
Waylon works with us part time. He works two weeks on and two weeks off while he jumps back and forth from his other assignments in "The Oilfield" where he practices geology. He is our scapegoat here at The Tree Amigos. We blame Waylon for everything that could possibly go wrong. Even on the days when he's not around. Especially on the days when he's not around. His work ethic, personal morals, and his personality make him one of the crews favorites though, and that is why he is the oldest member of the company. When he's gone to "The Oilfield" as we like to give him hard time about, everyone asks when he's going to be back.
